The Definitive Batman Game!

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

So let's face it, the majority of the Batman games preceeding Arkham Asylum did not really do the dark knight any real justice. Most of them were either sub par, overly frustrating, or just flat out sucked. Batman Returns on Super NES was probably the best Batman game from before Arkham Asylum. However, the dark knight finally received some justice in the gaming community after the release of this must play gaming gem! The look, feel, open environment, and just the general gameplay of this game is amazing! The puzzles aren't ridiculously hard to solve, the combat system is pretty unique, and it's fun using all of the different Batman gadgets. The boss fights are also unique and not overly complicated as well, and each boss is set up in a unique fashion that well suits each of the notorious Batman villains. Overall, this game is simply amazing, and shouldn't be too troubling for most any action/adventure gamer that is at least somewhat experienced. I still own this game myself. I've played through it probably at least 3 or 4 times, and I'll probably most definitely revisit it yet again sometime down the road. Please people...if you're an action/adventure gamer and have never played this game, please pick it up and give it a go. It's highly worthwhile!

I really tried to like this game because i heard all of these stories about how great it was but i was not impressed. The graphics and sound and action and story was great. But it seemed like it would take forever to get to the action. I think it was more fast passed it would be a better game.

This game is really awsome at effects and sound as if you were the charecter . Has maps like killer crocs lair and poisen ivy changes all maps to look as if plants grow every.also very cool effects like slowmotion kicks and batarang.

So close of perfection

Batman Arkam Asylum is a great, if not perfect game. I cannot give you my full review, because i'm still playing it, 2 weeks later STORY: You know, basic story, joker's on the loose again and has taken over the arkam asylum. It's cliche, but it keeps you involved. That's good VISUALS: They are AMAZING, something worth crying about even. I wonder how arkam city will do better... Sound: Sometimes the lips won't be in synch, but you can just ignore that. The voice actors are a bit above average, except joker, he does sound like a killer clown. Gameplay: The gameplay does get a bit tedious, just keep mashing X and Y and the game fights for you, but the one thing that never gets tedious is watching the minor ragdoll graphics as your foes fall to the ground, crumpled in pain. Once you complete the story, there are many challenges to complete, each will take some time and are extremely fun. There are two types; a brawl type, and an assassin-like type. Both i found are amusing. I also like how the game makes the AI be scared, when i take one out and another finds the body, he acts like he is in Friday the 13th. I like the detective mode as well, looking at their heart rates as they see their henchmen fall. Lasting Appeal: A lot, the challenges and story will take you a lot of time. I've been playing for a week, and still have not killed all of the enemies and solved all the puzzles. Even when you complete it you can download and play as the joker (you read it right) and download two new hard challenges; FREE. Thing is, i wish they made the campaign more repayable, that's it thoough This game has so much to it, can't wait for the second one GR1M OUT!

Batman Arkham Asylum takes place in the Asylum for the crazies in....well Arkham City. Batman is back and better than ever. Right after he captures Joker and takes him to the asylum Joker immediately escapes into the shadows of the asylum. Now, he unleashes every villain from their cells just for Batman to deal with. Batman must take care of Scarecrow, Bane, Harley, and especially the Joker. This is the best Batman game ever....until Arkham City comes out next week. You should really play this game first before Arkham City because this will be the prequel to that game. Enjoy....

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

This is my favorite game. It has movie style graphics, and flawless gameplay. So, here's how it goes. The Joker has been taken to Arkham to be locked up. Joker escaped custody, and Harley let Joker in to the asylum. Batman breaks in, and the action begins. This game uses the best combat in a videogame, and it's really addicting. Once you start a combo, then you go in to what is known as freeflow combat. In freeflow, all you do is hit X, triangle, or circle, and it basically fights for you. Anyways, Joker had all of his crew shipped in from Blackgate prison, and they began to take over Arkham with the aid of a great amount of super criminals. If you haven't played the game, I won't say who the other villains are, but they are all awesome. Some of them can even be frightening. I have beaten this game 5 times, and I am excited for the sequel. Let's see if you can take back the asylum.

Excellent game, but gets redundant

Don't get me wrong, this is a well-made game with great graphics and a solid gameplay. The thing is that the gameplay gets very repetitive over time; the fight scenes all look the same but nonetheless, it's a worthwhile game. There are a ton of "bosses" from the comic books that you fight throughout the game. Very fun and Arkham City looks to be even better.
